Weekend 1: Thimphu Exploration
The Itinerary is solely for your guidance. We will help you customize it according to your preferences and interests. Each and every part of your journey can be customized.
Day 1: Saturday
Morning
Begin your short hike to Wangditse by driving from the Mothithang area.
Before starting your hike, take a detour to visit the Takin Reserve centre, where you can catch a glimpse of our national animals, the takin.
Afterward, embark on your journey towards the Wangditse Monastery.
The hike offers stunning views of Tashichho Dzong, Thimphu city and the Buddha statue.
Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal at a local restaurant.
Afternoon:
Visit the Tashichho Dzong, an impressive fortress that houses the Bhutanese government. The Dzong’s stunning architecture with its white walls, red roofs and intricate woodwork, is a prime example of Bhutanese traditional design.
Visits to the Folk Heritage Museum, (showcasing Bhutanese rural life and traditional artifacts, providing visitors with a glimpse into country rich cultural heritage). In the late part of the afternoon start your journey towards Paro, a picturesque destination nestled in the Himalayas. As the sun starts to set, you will be treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Evening:
- After reaching Paro, settle into your hotel. Take a moment to unwind and savour the tranquillity of the area. Later, you can explore the local markets or enjoy a delicious Bhutanese meal at the nearby restaurant, immersing yourself in the rich culture and Flavors of this beautiful town. Paro Exploration
Day 2: Sunday
Morning
After breakfast, start your energizing hike to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Known as Paro Taktsang). Legend has it that 8th century Buddhist master Guru Rinpoche arrived here on the back of a flying tigress and meditated in this breathtaking location.

Visit the Chele La pass with the majestic views of Mt. Jomalhari, Mount Jitchu Drake and panoramic view of both Paro and Haa Valleys or visit iconic Paro Dzong, the National Musuem and 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang.
Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal at a local restaurant or at your hotel.
Afternoon:
Indulge in some retail therapy at the vibrant Paro Craft market, where you can find a treasure trove of exquisite handicrafts, colorful beaded chains, traditional bangles, beautifully woven clothing and a myriad of other locally crafted items.

After the invigorating hike, make your way back to Thimphu. The journey will offer a chance to reflect on the natural beauty and prepare for the vibrant culture and experiences that await in the heart of the country.
Evening:
After dinner, you can explore the nightlife in Thimphu by visiting popular spots like Grey Area, Drunken Yeti, Mojo Park, Space 34 etc. These venues often have live music, DJ sets and a lively atmosphere.

Indulge in a traditional hot stone bath, a rejuvenating Bhutanese tradition, followed by a delectable local dinner that will immerse your senses in the Flavors of the region.
Weekend 2: Punakha Exploration
Day 1: Saturday
Morning
Begin your day heading towards Buddha point, where the iconic statue of Lord Buddha offers panoramic views of the Thimphu Valley, creating a breathtaking start to your adventure.
From there, embark on a scenic cycling journey towards Changangkha Lhakhang, winding through a lush pine forest.
This trail is not only a natural delight but also a part of the grand 60th birth anniversary celebration of Bhutan’s fourth king, adding a touch of historical significance to your ride.
Lunch: Enjoy a traditional Bhutanese meal at a local restaurant or at your hotel.
Afternoon:
After a satisfying lunch, make your way to Punakha via Dochula, one of the most iconic sights with 108 chortens or stupas known as “Druk Wangyal Chortens”.
Chimi Lhakhang is your first destination. It’s a temple dedicated to the divine madman, Drukpa Kunley, who is a revered figure in Bhutanese culture. Its particularly famous for its association with fertility. The temple is surrounded by beautiful rich fields and a peaceful atmosphere.
Late in the evening walk across the suspension bridge, you will find a picturesque suspension bridge that crosses the Punakha River. This bridge provides excellent views of the Dzong and surrounding landscape. It’s a pleasant walk to soak in the natural beauty.
Evening:
For dinner, you can opt to enjoy another round of Bhutanese cuisine at your hotel’s restaurant or visit a local restaurant to taste more Bhutanese Flavors. Overnight stay in Punakha.
Day 2: Sunday
Morning
Start your day with the hearty breakfast at your hotel in Punakha. This will provide the energy you need for the day’s activities.
After breakfast, explore the magnificent Punakha Dzong, famously known as the “Palace of Great Happiness,’’ which is a striking architectural masterpiece set at the confluence of the Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu rivers. You can explore the intricate architecture and courtyards of the Dzong, which is both a religious and administrative centre.
Afternoon:
- Prepare to depart from Punakha and head back to Thimphu. The journey will take few hours.
Arrive in Thimphu in the later afternoon. Take sometime to relax and freshen up
Evening:
For a different kind of nightlife experience, you can visit the local popular club like Viva city, Ambient café, Kaja Throm. Enjoy Bhutanese and international music, dance and a vibrant nightlife scene.
